We’re opening MaxGood.work up to integrators. Today we’re announcing Phase 1 of our Public API BETA — a stable, documented way for Enterprise Avatar Owners and Admins to connect their Avatars to the systems they already use.
If you’ve ever wanted to pull your Avatar’s knowledge into your own portal, push content in from an existing knowledge base, tag members from your CRM, or get an Avatar’s coaching reply inside your own product — this is for you.
What’s in Phase 1
The Phase 1 BETA surface is authenticated with an Avatar API key that an Avatar Admin creates from Avatar Admin > Account in the web portal. It is built for server-to-server integrations and covers three areas:
- Enterprise — confirm your Avatar’s identity, run semantic retrieval over your Avatar’s own content, and tag members.
- Content management — create and manage content titles, upload documents or raw text, inspect and edit the resulting chunks, and manage per-title footers.
- Get a response from an Avatar — obtain the Avatar’s reply to a message on behalf of one of its members, using the same coaching engine that powers our web, Slack, Teams, Discord, and email experiences.
Full, interactive documentation — including the machine-readable OpenAPI specification and our Stability & Use Contract — lives at blog.maxgood.work/api-documentation-beta.
What’s coming in later BETA phases
Phase 1 is deliberately focused. We’re already working toward subsequent phases that will add:
- User management — invite, remove, and manage your Avatar’s members programmatically.
- Newsjacking — generate timely, on-brand articles from your Avatar’s expertise.
- Public data access — read the publicly shareable content and showcase data for the MaxGood.work platform.
- Avatar Alignment – update the personality, instructions, and information your Avatar uses when interacting with all your clients.
- Avatar usage & sentiment — Avatar-scoped analytics on how your members are engaging and how they feel.
- NOTE: other subscription levels will get access to a limited API in the future. If you are interested and would like to share a use case with us, please join our Discord (see below).
A word on “BETA”
BETA is real and substantive: the API is functional and runs on the same production infrastructure as the rest of MaxGood.work. During BETA we may evolve endpoints, and we announce any breaking change at least one week ahead — on the documentation page and in our Discord. The full commitment is spelled out in the Stability & Use Contract on the docs page.
