How to Upload Content to your Avatar Expertise (PT 1: Manual Content Upload)
Once your avatar is aligned, the next step is training it to think interact like you by adding your content into your avatar expertise using the “expertise” tab on your MaxGood.work admin dashboard.
This guide covers how to manually uploading content in text, PDFs, other documents formats and adding metadata, into your avatar expertise.
Important note: Before uploading your content into your avatar expertise, please bear in mind that the word count limit for each content uploaded via text or document must not exceed 1500 words. Use a word-counter to count the number of words in your content before uplaodeding them and break them into smaller pieces below 1500 words.
Step to uploading content into your avatar expertise – Manually:
1. Prepare your content for upload using basic markdown formating.
- Use # to add title to your content
- Use ** to bolden section within your content
- Use [] and () to hyperlink to text within your content.
2.Navigate to the expertise tab from the admin dashboard

Add a title – The general name you want to give all content chunks under this title

Navigate to Manage Content button under actions and click the button
- On the Manage Content page, select “upload content”
- When the ‘upload content’ page pop-up, select “text upload”

Add content title

Add content text. Each text area can only take 1500 words maximum

Make sure to include meta description into the body of the content.

2b or Select Upload Documents (Manual)
You can upload:

PDFs, Word document or any other document type

Navigate to Manage Content button under actions and click the button
- On the Manage Content page, select “upload content”
- When the ‘upload content’ page pop-up, select “upload files”

Chose file to upload – The content on each file uploaded must not exceed 1500 words, otherwise the system will automatically break the content into chunks.

Make sure to include meta description into the body of the content. (The next step shows how to do that)

3. Adding Metadata to your content upload for Better Accuracy

Follow this steps to Add metadata inside the text upload field or directly in your documents.
- Your meta data for each content added should cover the following:
- This can include topic tags of the area your content chunck covers or addresses e.g people management , leadership and e.t.c
- The format of your meta data should be in JSON format to distinguished it from the main text.
- Always add the meta data only at the end of the original content.
4. Preview Your Content Chunks
Use the Preview Content button to preview how each chunk appears to the avatar. Your avatar will learn from and retrieve these content as references in chat interactions.
5. Test Your Avatar
After uploading:

Chat with your avatar

Review how it uses your content

Adjust as needed
This step ensures you test your avatar before inviting users.
