What Is MaxGood.work?
MaxGood.work is an AI-powered coaching platform. Business owners, leaders and the consultants who advise them create Avatars that align, support and develop their staff 24/7. Each Avatar is built on Foundation Content™ — curated, licensed expert work — plus the owner’s own expertise, and is configured to reflect the standards and approach of the person who owns it.
A staff member uses an Avatar the way they would a coach or advisor — asking questions, working through a problem, applying what an expert knows to the situation actually in front of them. The difference is availability: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the moment of need rather than three days later.
Our Philosophy Working with Foundation Authors
We believe expertise deserves to be acknowledged, properly referenced and fairly compensated. Some AI products are built on whatever could be crawled. Ours is built on work we licensed and pay for. If your work is grounding an Avatar’s answers, you should know about it, have consented to it, and be paid for it.
We also believe that transparency about expertise creates trust in AI. When a user knows that an Avatar is grounded in the specific, verified intellectual property of a named expert — not scraped from the web or assembled from anonymous sources — they engage with it differently. They trust it more. And that trust is earned, not manufactured.
This is how it works in practice: an owner building an Avatar chooses which Foundation Content to include. When your work is used, it is explicitly credited as the source, and you are paid for that use. The person reading the answer knows where it came from.
Foundation Authors are not a background resource. They are named, credited people whose work is the foundation of the platform’s credibility. Attribution is a feature of the product, not a footnote in a contract.
Licensing Terms
The foundation of the MaxGood.work author relationship is a content license. The author selects which of their works (“Titles”) they want to license to MaxGood.work, and those Titles are listed in the agreement. The license allows MaxGood.work to use and display excerpts from those Titles inside Avatars on the platform.
How Your Content Is Used
Licensed Titles are processed into smaller excerpts called “Chunks” — typically 500 to 2,000 words each — using MaxGood.work’s proprietary method. When an Avatar responds to a user, it algorithmically selects the most relevant Chunks to inform and support that response.
Users are never shown full Titles. They see only the Chunks that are surfaced to improve the Avatar’s response — and those Chunks are attributed to you as the source.
IP Ownership
You keep full ownership of your underlying works. The license grants MaxGood.work the right to use your content within the platform — your ownership is never transferred or diminished.
Revenue Share
Authors receive a quarterly revenue share equal to a portion of 5% of Eligible Avatar Subscription Revenue (net of taxes and fees). Your share of that 5% is proportional to your Weighted Usage relative to all authors on the platform — that is, how much your Chunks are actually being used compared to everyone else’s.
Weighted Usage is determined by the exclusivity category of each Title, which sets its Value Weight: Public (weight 1), Semi-Public (2), Exclusive (4) and Perpetual Exclusive (twice the next-highest weight, currently 8). Greater exclusivity means more restricted distribution and a higher multiplier — dilution and payment move in opposite directions.
Payments issue once your balance reaches CAD $250; below that it rolls forward to the next quarter. No usage in a period means no royalty for that period, and we would rather say so now than explain it later. Once a year you may commission an independent CPA review of the calculations; if we underpaid you by more than 5% we correct it and reimburse reasonable audit fees.
A caveat we would rather state than have you discover: exclusivity here is a contractual commitment, in the way a publishing licence is. It is enforced by the agreement, not by a technical lock.
MaxGood.work handles all commercial operations: selling subscriptions, setting prices, invoicing customers, and collecting payment. Authors do not manage any part of the commercial side.
What Licensing Does and Does Not Grant
Licensing makes you a content licensor, not an Avatar Owner, Admin or user. It grants access to the Author Dashboard at author.maxgood.work, where you see your licensed Titles, the weight tier of each, and the usage and revenue your work earns.
An optional branded Author Avatar can be built and managed for you at no cost if both parties agree in writing, and you may use it yourself at no charge. Adding other users to it — colleagues or staff — requires a paid subscription on standard terms. You are also welcome to subscribe to an Avatar separately, like anyone else.
Co-Promotion
Within 30 days of the agreement being signed, the author publishes a publicly indexable page — on their own website or a major social platform — noting the licensing relationship and linking to a MaxGood.work URL. Either party may also announce and co-market the relationship at any time.
Editorial Control
MaxGood.work controls how content is formatted, chunked, and presented within the platform. This process preserves the substance and professional integrity of the author’s work — the meaning and voice are not altered, only the presentation is adapted for the AI context.

This is not legal advice. The revenue model described here reflects the terms in the signed Content Licensing Agreement — if you have a signed agreement, this is the same model.
Optional Author Avatar
The Author Avatar is an optional enhancement on top of the base licensing relationship. Authors who license their content to MaxGood.work are not required to have a dedicated Author Avatar — but most choose to.
An Author Avatar is a dedicated Avatar that contains and reflects only the work of one Foundation Author. It is built entirely from that Author’s own licensed Titles. No other content is available inside it.
The Author Avatar is created, managed, monitored, and marketed by the MaxGood.work team. The author also retains the right to promote and market their own Avatar independently.
Why Have Your Own Author Avatar?
- Your brand, front and centre. The Avatar carries your name, voice and methodology — you do not share the stage with other Authors.
- Dedicated revenue stream. Subscriptions are attributed directly to your Avatar. You share in the revenue it generates.
- Always-on representation. Your knowledge is available to subscribers 24/7 without requiring your personal time.
- Professional legacy. Your body of work becomes accessible in a coaching-ready, conversational format.
Experts We Are Looking For
We license work from practitioners who have developed original, proven expertise in their field. The ideal Foundation Author has:
- Published intellectual property — at least one book, training program, framework, or substantial body of documented methodology.
- A professional track record — years of applied experience working with clients, organizations, or learners in their domain.
- A defined methodology or approach — something distinctive and teachable, not just general experience in a field.
- Relevance to work environments — MaxGood.work serves business owners, leaders, HR professionals, consultants and organizations building capability.
- Willingness to engage — the Alignment Interview requires 45–60 minutes of the author’s time. That is the primary time commitment.
We are actively looking for experts in:
- marketing,
- sales,
- operations,
- leadership,
- strategy,
- innovation,
- industrial psychology,
- corporate governance,
- team dynamics,
- change management,
- executive coaching,
- learning and development, and
- general HR principles.
We are also particularly interested in regionally recognized experts with diverse language and cultural source materials.
If you are unsure whether your expertise qualifies, reach out. For each category of expertise, the number of authors we license is limited.
Onboarding Process
Thank you for considering becoming a Foundation Author for MaxGood.work. We look forward to working with you to create better work results and better work environments. Getting your work onto the platform follows five straightforward steps.
Step 0 — Sign the Licensing Agreement
Review and sign the Content Licensing Agreement, which covers the content licence, revenue share terms, IP ownership, co-promotion obligations, exit terms and the full scope of the relationship. The agreement is provided separately, and specific commercial terms are confirmed at this stage.
Step 1 — Choose Your Content
Identify the works you want to license to MaxGood.work. To participate, you must either own the copyright on your content, hold a commercial resale license for it, or be able to produce new content for which you own the copyright.
Step 2 — Prepare Your Content
Your content needs to be in an electronic format — but we can work with almost anything that can reasonably be converted to text: blog articles, documents, presentations, audio recordings, videos, or even hand-written content scanned to images. We can also go directly to where your content already lives, such as a blog or LinkedIn posts.
For each piece of content, you will provide:
- A Title — the name used to group related content chunks (e.g. a book name, website name, course name, or channel name). The MaxGood.work team will use this to organize the excerpts we prepare from your material.
- A Reference (optional) — a link to your website, an Amazon listing, a Udemy course page, a YouTube channel, or similar. References give users the opportunity to learn more or connect with you directly — a great way to increase the value you get from participating in the platform.
- A Content Category — each Title is classified as one of the following:
- Public — content already fully available online in its entirety (e.g. a blog post).
- Semi-Public — content only partially available online (e.g. a printed book where summaries exist but the full text requires purchase).
- Exclusive — content not available on the public internet in any form (e.g. private reports, transcripts of unpublished workshops). Note: Exclusive content has special licensing requirements.
- Perpetual Exclusive — Exclusive content licensed to MaxGood.work in perpetuity, carrying the highest weight and a floor guaranteeing it is always weighted at least twice the next-highest category. This category has its own terms and is agreed case by case.
Finally, make your content accessible to us — point us to where it lives (a website, shared drive, etc.) and provide any access details needed to retrieve it.
Step 3 — Upload to MaxGood.work
Once we have your content, the MaxGood.work team takes over:
- We split each Title into Chunks (typically 500–2,000 words) and make minor edits so each Chunk stands independently. For example, if the original content references another chapter or section, we edit that reference so the Chunk reads clearly on its own.
- We ensure formatting is clean and consistent — preserving headings, bullet lists, and the structure of the original where possible. If your content lacks formatting, we introduce basic structure so it presents well. We may also write text descriptions of important visuals such as diagrams or photos.
- We upload your Titles and Chunks to the MaxGood.work testing environment and set up your Author account, which gives you access to review and manage your content.
- At your discretion, you may review your Titles and Chunks in the testing environment before anything is finalized. We work with you closely to ensure your content is presented professionally and with integrity.
- Once you have approved the content, we upload your Titles and Chunks to the live MaxGood.work platform — making your work available to owners, leaders and their teams globally.
Step 4 — Monitor and Update
After your content is live, you monitor usage and manage your Titles on the Author Dashboard at author.maxgood.work. There you see your licensed Titles and their weight tiers, edit a Title’s description, image, attribution and footer preferences, maintain your profile, and review the usage and revenue your work earns. You also receive a statement by email each quarter.

The commitment is modest: provide your content, join a 45–60 minute Alignment Interview, and review your Avatar before it goes live. MaxGood.work handles everything else.
